Frequently Asked Questions

What is Transformational Hypnotherapy?

Transformational Hypnotherapy is a dynamic, empowering process of personal transformation which can bring about lasting and meaningful change in your life and the lives of your clients. The Transformational process is an interactive, client-oriented approach to hypnotherapy which radically departs from other traditional forms of hypnosis training. This training draws upon the work of Gestalt Therapy, Psychosynthesis, Ericksonian Hypnosis, Neuro-linguistic Programming, Shamanism and the archetypal psychology of Carl Jung.

The profound synthesis of this work would best be described as a framework for the emergence of our true self and inner wholeness. The vehicle for this transformative process are the archetypes, or inner guides. Modern Transformation can be defined as the spiritual discipline of working with inner guidance. Once integrated, the emerging higher-self can deal with life in a way the old self never dreamed possible.

When I'm hypnotized, will I lose control of myself?

No, while in a hypnotic state you will actually gain greater control of yourself. The reason you accept and follow a hypnotic suggestion is because the suggestions are what you have told the Hypnotherapist you want. The law of self-preservation will not usually allow you to accept a harmful suggestion.

When I'm in trance will you make me cluck like a chicken, or bark like a dog?

NO, you will not do anything you do not think is acceptable. You cannot be made to do anything to violate your own values. It is your choice to enter the trance state. It is also your choice to leave the trance state at any time. If you were ever left in a trance state, you would either return to full consciousness on your own or enter into a natural sleep and awaken after a pleasant nap.

Can everyone be hypnotized?

Yes, if they want to be. We actually live a lot of our daily lives in hypnotic states. Hypnosis is actually designed to de-hypnotize you.
